Interoperability

Information that lands where a decision is made.

Moving a record between systems is the easy half. Landing it inside the workflow where someone will act on it is the half that changes care.

How exchange works

Arrival is not integration.

A document that appears in an inbox nobody reviews has technically been exchanged. Clinically, nothing has changed. GHEIT products support health information exchange with compatible systems, and connect that exchange to the workflow rather than beside it.

  1. 1

    Information originates

A clinical encounter, a device measurement or a referral creates information inside one of the connected systems.

  2. 2

    Exchange with compatible systems

The information is shared with compatible healthcare systems rather than remaining inside the product that produced it.

  3. 3

    Lands in the workflow

It arrives at the point where a decision is being made, not in a disconnected inbox or as an unlinked attachment.

  4. 4

    Context follows the patient

As the patient moves between settings of care, the relevant information moves with them.

Principles

What we hold to.

  • Bi-directional by default

Information that only travels outward leaves the sender guessing. RideON returns referral findings to the sending provider as part of the workflow, not on request.

  • Connected to the record

Exchange is connected to the clinical system of record in NeoCareX, so shared information becomes part of the chart rather than an attachment beside it.

  • Patient-accessible

MyCareX gives the person the information describes access to it, which is the shortest route to catching an error in it.

  • Continuous, not episodic

VitalCareX contributes device and wearable measurements continuously, so the exchanged picture is current rather than a snapshot from the last visit.
